In 1988, the Upper Swan Valley Historical Society was established in Condon, Montana. The goal was to discover, collect, preserve, and interpret materials relating to Montana’s Swan River Valley. Today the Swan Valley Historical Society has displays relating to the area history.
The Swan Valley is a timber-rich, forested area and logging has been an important part of the communities in the region. Shown below are some of the logging displays in the museum.

Forest Service
Much of the land in the Swan River Valley is National Forest and thus the U.S.D.A. Forest Service is an important agency in the area.
