The Olympic Flight Museum was established in 1998 at the Olympia Regional Airport in Olympia, Washington. Shown below are some of the helicopters which were on display.
Kaman HH-43 Huskie
The prototype of the HH-43 Huskie first flew in 1947. During the Vietnam War, the HH-43 Huskie flew more rescue missions than all other aircraft combined. This aircraft carried two flight crew and two rescue crew. It has a maximum speed of 120 mph and a cruise speed of 110 mph.
UH-1H
This helicopter was restored by Olympic Flight Museum volunteers and the Washington State Chapter of the Vietnam Helicopter Pilots Association.
Benson X-25A Gyrocopter
This aircraft was developed during the Vietnam Conflict as a “Discretionary Descent Vehicle”. The vehicle on display is actually a B-BM gyrocopter configured to the X-25A specifications.
