Starting this weekend, there will be 32 service members at Providence Newberg, 26 at Providence Milwaukie, 24 at Providence Willamette Falls and 13 at Providence Seaside.
The 66 bed Providence Milwaukie Hospital is a 10 minute drive from my house and is where I had a colonoscopy last month.
Then looking at the two local news websites I noticed and read these two articles:
Something does not compute here! What is wrong with these state troopers and firefighters? These are the first responders who are supposed to be dedicated to saving your life if you have a car accident, heart attack, or your house is on fire.
Instead they are exposing you to Covid and thus instead of rescuing you from a life threatening situation they are increasing the chances that you will die.
Are they utterly mad, Alfred E. Neuman stupid, or just so brainwashed by the MAGA and anti-vax cult that insist that their personal freedom to refuse a vaccine mandate takes precedent over your right not to have them give you Covid?

On a related subject, no matter where you live, this is the time to consider upping the level of mask protection if you haven’t already done so and wear a KN95 or N95 mask, the later now being readily available to the general public. The head of the Fraternal Order of Police, which represents some 355,000 members, recently compared vaccine mandates to Nazi Germany – now a notable a right-wing talking point that several conservative lawmakers and pundits have employed over the past couple months.
"We're in America, G-ddamn it," union president John Catanzara told the Sun-Times. "We don't want to be forced to do anything. Period. This ain't Nazi f---ing Germany, [where they say], 'Step into the f---ing showers. The pills won't hurt you.' What the f--k?"
"Nobody knows what the long term side effects could possibly be," he added. "Nobody. And anybody who says they do are full of s--t."
