The McChord Air Museum on the McCord Air Base near Tacoma, Washington has Fairchild Republic A10A Thunderbolt II, commonly known as a Warthog. The Thunderbolt II, developed to provide ground support in the Vietnam War, was an airplane built around a gun: the “Avenger” Gatling gun which can fire foot long 30mm shells at the rate of 4,000 rounds per minute.
