What is a love-in? It’s a form of protest like a sit-in, but with an emphasis on expressing praise and appreciation for one another: as individuals, as part of a community, and as a group standing together against some kind of injustice.
On Tuesday, in celebration of Valentine’s Day, the Daily Kos Guild (DKG) held an all-day action, publishing one story every hour from the DKG Solidarity group, featuring posts from staff and Community in support of DKG.
This wrap-up is to express our gratitude once again to everyone who agreed to write for us, and also to link all the stories in one place for folks who missed some or all of them.
This story is part of a series of I ♥ DK Guild posts written by Community members to show their support for the writing, activism and site services work of DK Guild members. All of us together make Daily Kos the most vibrant progressive community on the net. Let's do everything we can to keep it that way!

I ♥ DK Guild: One voice can easily be lost. Many together? Not so much. by Jon Sitzman
If you work an 8(-ish) hour day, 40(-ish) hour week, with two days off per week, have minimum break periods each working day, and get bennies at your job—thank a labor union. Blood was literally shed for us to have these things.

I ♥ DK Guild: The dignity of work by DrLori
[The] Guild is negotiating for economic security, but they’re also negotiating as equal partners, as the people who bring the value-added to a valuable enterprise. It’s about dignity. Without dignity, we’re all desperately surviving. Unions bring dignity to work.

I ♥ DK Guild—Really by BeninSC
We have worked on and enjoyed this site with them for years, so we know them pretty well, even if we haven’t met in person. We know their inner beauty, their moral beauty.
What more would we ask of those we love? What more could we ask of those beside whom we stand, work and fight?

I ♥DK Guild: Look for the union label by belinda ridgewood
The people who work here don’t just bring us good information and the framework to understand it and act on it—they make a space for our community, and keep it running 24 x 7 x 365.

I love the fact that everything I do at my job is in some small way helping push for a better future for my kids’ generation. This push happens because of labor.

I ♥ DK Guild: A German Gingerbread Heart in Solidarity With the Workers of Daily Kos by citisven
Even with a union, management still holds many cards. One of the union’s cards is support from the Community, and we can help widen that support and adjust that balance of power just a little.

I ♥ DK Guild: This is community by Brandi Buchman
This is community. This is love. This is the kind of stuff that restores my faith in people when it wavers.
