The Ron Wade Automobile Collection includes some rare cars from the 1970s. These cars were displayed in WAAAM West in Vancouver, Washington. The Western Antique Aeroplane and Automobile Museum (WAAAM) is in Hood River, Oregon. Shown below are some rare automobiles from the 1970s.
1971 Ford Mustang SCJ Convertible
Only eight convertibles were produced; only three with Ram Air Drag Pack 4-Speed. This is the only one with power windows. The 429 CID engine produces 370 horsepower. The original price was $3,322; it is currently valued at $250,000.
1970 Shelby GT500 Mustang
According to the Museum:
“Carroll Shelby had a brief but very fruitful relationship with Ford, producing some rarified performance cars for the make. Not least of which was the Mustang GT500. The GT500 was fitted with a 428 cu. In,, 7,0L, Cobra Jet V8 engine producing 335 HP and 440 ft-lbs of torque—making it a frighteningly quick performance machine.”
1974 Pantera GTS
A total of 125 of these cars were made. The original price was $11,500. This was the very last GTS built and shipped to America.
1970 Ford Ranchero GT Super Cobra Jet
Only 22 of these vehicles were produced. It sold for $2,739. The engine is a 429 CID Super Cobra Jet with 375 horsepower.
