Welcome back to another 2024 Monday!
There’s actually a lot likely to fill our time this week. And after a jam-packed week of Smirnov news last time around, the weekend was surprisingly quiet in my corner of the social media world. Except for the rather annoying volume of traffic surrounding an extensive interview of the execrable Libs of Tik Tok idiot.
Surely Greg Dworkin spent his weekend more fruitfully, and so has a Raft o’ Stories™ of much more obvious value.
But if not, well, the Congress has got three days to avoid the next government shutdown, and the Senate has to find a way to dispense with the Mayorkas impeachment.
So that alone should keep us plenty busy.
But as it happens, there was also a primary in South Carolina, and the Republicans’ putative nominee is under indictment in multiple jurisdictions, and already an adjudged rapist.
You’d think that’d be a bigger part of the overall story, but it’s not. Maybe in part because it’s still February.
But here on this show, we don’t wait to talk about it.
