It has been my personal burden pleasure to appear regularly before a certain member of our local judiciary. I had come into contact with her prior to her ascension to the throne appointment to the bench but was totally unaware of her political leanings. Subsequently, I have appeared in her courtroom on a regular basis. During that time it became clear that her views tend toward the extreme right end of the political spectrum.
But first a word from our sponsor.

Over this period, I have come to expect and even anticipate her forays into central Wingnutistan. These often occur upon the departure from the courtroom of a public assistance recipient. (More often than not, it will be an individual with a distinct ethnic/racial identity.) Where it is deemed that such individual has not proven cooperative to her vague personal standard, she will utter something similar to But she's taking our money! (I manage to hold my tongue, but just barely.)
And so it came as a complete surprise when she took a swipe at a prominent Republican presidential candidate.
A couple (now separated) entered the courtroom. The wife had a terminal illness and needed to continue to qualify for the hospice care that she was currently receiving. After seeing this still married couple for a brief time, it became clear that they had separated for a specific reason. In separating, her income was obviously reduced to the requisite level to qualify for her benefits. At the conclusion of the proceeding, the husband bent to help the wife stand and leave. But he did it in such a loving fashion that all was made obvious. And we all recognized it.
After they exited, the courtroom door closed behind them. Judge Wingnutette stated You can't leave your terminal wife. Unless you're Newt Gingrich..
I was speechless.
On to the nominations.
