The Ex-Steeler is considering a run in the GOP primary according to the Pittsubrugh Post-Gazette.

He's appeared with Bush at events and is popular in the western Pennyslvania cuz he was a successful football player. Other primary contenders might include State Sen. Jeff Piccola, and fmr, Lt. Gov. William Scranton, in addition to US rep. Melissa Hart and fmr. rep. Pat Toomey.
The other angle being played is that Swann, a Steeler, would opposed Rendell, fmr Philly mayor and a die-hard Eagles fan.
I loved this quote from a GOP consultant:
"I don't think his lack of political experience is a killer," Brabender said. "During a race for governor, issues are a little bit secondary. A candidate's likability and leadership ability are primary. Lynn Swann is articulate and likeable and comes across as a great advocate for Pennsylvania.
Good too see issues dont matter. Obviously governors should be ppl who played football or robots in movies. How would Swann fare in a primary or a general against Rendell? Thoughts?
