Please join us on January 21, 2017, at the Women’s March on NYC. Through my college, the School of Visual Arts, who is a sponsor of the event, we are extending an invitation to other groups/people who would like to be a part of our ‘gang’ and bring their signs, including affiliations, and their beautiful selves. My own students will be filming the event — we have 15 cameras already committed!
I have been in touch with one of the lead organizers of the event and they are doing an incredible job. There will be designated meet-up locations for each group and participants will be streamed into the March at staggered times. The organizers are currently working with the City to determine the route, which is dependent on the number of people they estimate will be there. There are already over 15,000 committed at this early date.
You will find additional information here. You will also find a gofundme link from the organizers to help raise money for the staging area.
If you sign up with us at svafilmthesis@gmail.com, someone will get back to you with a brief information sheet; name, email, and phone#. We want to be able to contact you about our meeting location, as well as routes, protocol, and marching tips. We have t-shirts too:).
We would love to have a group from Daily Kos join with us — and we’ve got the banner!

Update:
I recently spoke with Katherine Siemionko, the organizer of Women’s March on NYC. She indicated that there are currently 15,000 attendees across all social media forums. They are planning for 100,000. I wouldn’t be surprised if there was more.
