And one really loud mantra of the past administration, was go on with your lives. Go out and spend. Buy stuff. So the builders built and the bankers lent and businesses continued to invest around the world, finding ways to cut costs in cheaper to operate atmospheres outside of the US. They siphoned off US jobs and lowered US pay, and the builders kept building their houses and the bankers kept lending credit to fill in the pay gap of the inhabitants of this nation, and we kept buying stuff. Why did we go out and buy so much stuff to keep us busy? Creating the illusion, and placating ourselves with an idea that, times really are different. We didn’t have to work so hard and long to live the good life. We could have it all right now. We bought this, because they sold it to us.
Buy, is what they told us to do. Buy is what we did. What kind of advice was that from our government? Why would they tell us to do that? Why did congress sit idly by, and let that last government work in secret? Secrets that ultimately broke a nation. Didn’t we have a better education?
