Evening kids. This past week has been a trip. Now, before we begin, we're going to do some navel gazing.
Go here, marvel at the navels! Then come back.
Feel better? Good. I've been thinking all day of how to frame this opening. What happened, and what does it mean? Honestly, I have no idea. What I do know is that Ned Lamont is the Democratic nominee for US Senate in Connecticut, Joe Lieberman has decided that the voters won't get in the way of his Senatorial aspirations, and that the media and the GOP (particularly those who Joe has enabled) seem to think we're loonies who have "extreme ideas"...
Well, I'm happy to be in that extreme 60% of the country that thinks this war is wrong, I'm happy to be among us loonies. You know, the pastors, the war veterans, the parents, the US Senators, the US Congressmen, the candidates, the 15-year-olds, the 80-year-olds, the lurkers, the regulars, heck even on some days the trolls. This place reinvigorated my inner political that had been terribly hurt in the period after the 2004 election. The words of wisdom and the desire here, against not only the Republicans but also against the seemingly insurmountable crap of the "oh, we don't want to rock the boat", have helped greatly in bringing back my political love.
You know what I want to hear in January 2007 (besides the Patriots going to Super Bowl XLI)? I want to hear the United States Senate swear in Senators Lamont, Tester, Webb, McCaskill, Whitehouse, Brown, Ford, Carter, and anyone else who can get in. I want to see the Democrats take the House and Senate. For awhile, I didn't have hope. This place gave me that hope back, because the fight is alive. It's alive in every last one of us, to save our democracy and our country, and to make the world a better place. So thank you.
Also, a little more navel gazing, but less my own and more Daily Kos navel gazing (question of the day: does the website have an outie or an innie?) histopresto reminds us that we're on the verge of UID #100000. My money's on a lurker who posts at times, which is always good.
Good. My navel's fuzzy now, so let's move onto the top comments. First, the commenteers (who have put their rings together to call me, Captain Comment)
First, the multiples: Carnacki and MuffledDrum both suggested this comment:

That's it for tonight. I tried to work some non-Lieberman stuff in, and I'm hoping you, the readers, have some good stuff to add. The poll is the usual fun so go vote, because if you don't, Cobra Commander and Megatron win.
