I sent an email.
If we all do, then Air America will help us all.
This is the least we can do for Kos for keeping our spirits up, and refereeing our spats.
Email follows:
Markos Moulitsas Zúniga's blog, Daily Kos, runs ads from Democratic candidates and Progressive causes. These advertisers are now being assaulted by a conservative campaign. "Kos" grew up in El Salvador, and his experience has given him a different outlook on the Iraq war. After the tragedy in Fallujah this week, he wrote a comment in which he was suspicious about what the U.S. mercenaries who were killed were doing in town.
He thought about it some more and elaborated on it as follows:
http://www.dailykos.com/story/2004/4/2/175739/8203
"There's been much ado about my indifference to the Mercenary deaths in Falluja a couple days ago. I wrote in some diary comments somewhere that "I felt nothing" and "screw them".
My language was harsh, and, in reality, not true. Fact is, I did feel something. That's why I was so angry.
I was angry that five soldiers -- the real heroes in my mind -- were killed the same day and got far lower billing in the newscasts. I was angry that 51 American soldiers paid the ultimate price for Bush's folly in Iraq in March alone. I was angry that these mercenaries make more in a day than our brave men and women in uniform make in an entire month. I was angry that the US is funding private armies, paying them $30,000 per soldier, per month, while the Bush administration tries to cut our soldiers' hazard pay. I was angry that these mercenaries would leave their wives and children behind to enter a war zone on their own violition."
Of course, that wasn't good enough for those who wanted to make hay out of a few inappropriately phrased sentiments.

The "Fried Man" is getting his readers to email advertisers and telling them to pull their blog ads. So far, Martin Frost (D-TX) has and Joe Donnelly (Dem of Indiana) has considered it. No faith in Kos, or his fellow bloggers.
Joe Hoeffel (Dem of PA for Senate) and Jane Mitakides (Dem of OH for House) have trusted in Kos and the Daily Kos community, and kept their ads UP.
Let's get the word out who's brave and who buckles at the first sign of trouble. If they bow down now while they are running for office, will they really oppose the GOP in Washington DC?
In addition, Air America hosts can make this story known to all "prog blog" communities and their webmasters. Then, communities can decide whether they want to allow Joe and Martin to advertise on their sites, after considering how badly they've treated Kos.
