it's one of the things I don't miss about working outside the house. Mondays are not the most dreaded day of the week anymore. Used to be, I would get a nervous knot in my stomach during the day on Sunday, knowing I had to gear myself up for another work week.
Now, I can work my own hours. Usually, those roughly correspond to a normal work week, but not always. The dress code is a lot more relaxed, too.
So what made today a relaxing day? Well, we had my sister and brother in law over for lunch. Of course, before my dear BIL was permitted to eat, he got to help Rich reset our guest bath toilet. Apparently, the last person to set it decided that grout would be a sufficient shim to level the bowl. When the grout failed (duh), the toilet started to think it was a rocking chair.
After I spent the morning preparing, the lunch of chicken enchiladas, homemade refried beans, pico de gallo, and chilled avocado soup was a welcome treat and rest. A little talk, and then my sister wanted to go shopping, so off to Target we went. We wandered and found some things she needed, and then we were due at her mother in law's house for dinner. Simple food, good company, and the Bears-Packers game on the big TV made for a pleasant way to pass the afternoon.
How did you pass your Sunday?
