Happy Monday, and Happy 5773 to you! Man, Earth! You are OLD!
They're not coming back until Wednesday, on account of the Jewish holiday, but the House is apparently determined to make this week its last one in session before the elections, and they're going out with a bang. If by "bang" you mean 28 suspensions, another doomed anti-regulatory resolution of disapproval, and the ludicrously-named "Stop the War on Coal Act."
Congress truly is the last great entitlement. They get paid for this!
When the Senate comes back, they'll be returning to work on the Veterans Job Corps Act, and voting on cloture on the motion to proceed to the continuing resolution. No word yet on whether the Senate will follow suit with the House's planned adjournment.
Romney's ship continues to founder, with the campaign infighting breaking out into the open according to news reports. And we still don't know if the dude really pays his taxes.
Hold on tight. It's another week of Daily Kos Radio!
