Well, I've survived Scout camp, for now. But I'm not in the clear just yet.
In a couple days, when the blood work comes back, we'll find out whether I've just got the flu, a bad cold, or Lyme disease. Ah, the Great Outdoors!
For now, the voice is a little shaky, and even though I'm dying to get back to covering all the amazing news from last week, you'd probably still rather hear a "classic" Kagro in the Morning show podcast than listen to me sniffle and cough.
So, with deepest apologies, it's going to have to be the June 30, 2014 episode:
Greg Dworkin sets the mood with The Onion's contribution on Hobby Lobby. Justice Stevens' City of Boerne v. Flores concurrence saw the RFRA itself as an impermissible violation of the First Amendment. James Risen's Blackwater blockbuster. The robots are taking over. The multiple problems with Facebook's crazy experiment. And the intriguing backstory to a Hawaii political drama. For the fifth time in three and a half years, we've had GunFAIL accidents at more than one gun show on the same day. An Oklahoma Republican says his primary opponent (Rep. Frank Lucas) was actually executed three years ago & is now either a body double or a robot. But hey, both sides do it. You know? Turning back for a closer look at the Blackwater story, we took time out to talk to Armando as news came in from the Supreme Court on Hobby Lobby and Harris.

SUPPORT SERIOUSLY GOOD MEDIA!
Hey, we put on a pretty good show, if I do say so myself, and we do it five days a week for two hours a day. I think we provide a product that's pretty unique in the radio and podcasting sphere, and we go into stories at a level of detail that's hard to find elsewhere, even right here at Daily Kos. "We'll have to leave it there," is something you'll never hear.
Does that sound like media you'd like to help support? OK, well, would you do it anyway? If the Kagro in the Morning show is a fun, important or medically necessary part of your day, consider a adding your ongoing support for what we do, through my Recurrency.us page.

Our minds are still very much on the Charleston shootings, to no one's surprise. Greg Dworkin rounded up a selection of stories to help us continue to deal with the issues swirling around it. The latest entry in the "Republicans don't get empathy" narrative. John Lott gets SC gun law wrong, which of course means he's disqualified from the debate, then covers it up. Attacking Girl Scouts used to be a political punchline, but America has made it real. Final chapter on the TX gold bugs. Gene Weingarten on "branding" in journalism. Nobody loves stealing property more than the guardians of property rights.
