Crazy xenophobic bigots aren't abandoning Trump just yet.
Hey, remember when the GOP and media establishment declared that Donald Trump
was toast after the last debate? And then
he wasn't?
Obviously, that was nothing but wishful thinking because he's not going anywhere.
Trump holds 38% support in Nevada, with Carson in second with 22%, and in South Carolina, Trump doubles Carson's support, 36% to 18%. No other candidate comes close to those top two in either state; the third-place candidate in each case has less than 10% support.
Here's the
poll crosstabs. Fiorina rode her Planned Parenthood lies all the way to ... eight percent in Nevada and seven percent in South Carolina. So much for that fake boomlet.
Remember, the GOP primaries are winner-take-all, so even 38 percent is enough to win all of a state's delegates. It's not like the Dem contest where the delegates are apportioned proportionally. This gives Trump a serious advantage.
His biggest danger now is Iowa, where his polling is anemic compared to the rest of the early states (New Hampshire, South Carolina, and Nevada). But all in all, he's still in the driver's seat.
The dude is immune to the GOP information bubble, and no matter what you think of him (he's an asshole), that's impressive.
