Iowa has swallowed up and destroyed another Republican presidential candidate’s dreams. Rick Santorum, who won the state in 2012 but finished with just one percent of the vote in 2016, is ending his campaign, CNN reports.
According to CNN’s sources, Santorum does plan to endorse another candidate, which should be an interesting choice.
You have to wonder why Santorum didn’t just look at the situation—New Hampshire is not his kind of state and he’s not polling any better in South Carolina—and drop out on Monday night, but then again, this is a guy perhaps best known for his unfortunate Google situation who told people to Google him at the last debate. This campaign may have whipped his brain into too frothy of a mixture, is what I’m suggesting.
