Happy Monday! It’s April 15th, and time for Republicans to pretend they’re outraged about taxes they don’t even pay. All day long, they’ll be moping over it, even as their “president” robs the Treasury, refuses to prove he ever paid his share, and looks for more laws to break in order to squander our money on a wall we don’t want and that can’t work. Oh, and now he proposes to “own the libs” by giving immigrants free rides to nice cities. Boo hoo! Muh taxes!
Speaking of taxes, we’ll ask Greg Dworkin whether he has to pay any on his gold watch.
Listen right here at 9:00 AM ET!
PODCAST LISTENERS: There’s a new podcast platform in town, and the big news is: this one pays! RadioPublic pays podcast producers at $20 CPM for listens on their native app (available for iPhones & Androids), financed by pre- and post-roll ads they insert. Not a bad way to support the show, with somebody else’s money!
So if you’re a podcast listener, please consider downloading the RadioPublic app on your Android or iOS phone. Yes, you can still download directly from their site, or listen to the player embedded here at Daily Kos. But it’s listens in their app that count toward payment. And get this: listen to just three episodes in their app, and we earn a one-time, $1 “loyal listener” bonus.
Nothing changes on our end. It’s still Greg Dworkin, Joan McCarter, and even Armando. Plus also, me. And you! As always, we still want your voice on the air with us. Sit down with your smart phone or other electronic recording device and send us your stories and commentary to share with the audience. There’s no easier way to try your hand at podcasting, without all the hassle!
Of course there’s no substitute for having your support via Patreon, or one-time contributions via Square Cash. (And hey, if you want a cool trick for donating sorta-kinda cost free, get their cash.me app and use this share code to get $5 in your account (plus $5 in mine) when you send your first $5 (to anyone)!
For now, how about one on the house? Here’s what we did on our last show:

David Waldman is on the road again, college shopping with #1 son, and enduring his sticker shock one weekend at a time. Dishonest entry into college is crazy expensive, ostensibly honest ain’t cheap either. Now students are being sold on handing over part of their future earnings in return for loans. William Barr is trying to Rule 6(e) his way out of letting anyone see the complete Mueller report. House committees are already having their subpoenas rebuffed. David looks into conservative arguments supporting Barr, and the counterpoints. Georgia Rep. Lucy McBath was trolled by the Gop... at least for a while, until people that could read cursive showed up. Randolph 'Tex' Alles proposed saving money by withdrawing security protection for Trump’s family members and aides unless they had received threats. You can imagine how well that went over. Donald Trump is spending millions on Facebook ads, so what’s a few Howards between friends?
