Good morning, treehugging liberals and skeptics alike!
How many of you saw the season premiere of Real Time with Bill Maher last Friday? His opening guest was a guy named Peter Byck who made a film called Carbon Nation. It was a pretty good interview, with plenty of uplifting moments. Not sure how many of the climate change crowd you have seen on Bill's show; usually they are either bland or depressing, but all too often they are both.
Peter did a decent job of standing tall on the facts but remaining positive about what we can still do to undo the mess. I can't find a clip of that online, but here is a clip from the movie starring my man crush, Van Jones.
Just a little ray of sunshine for y'all in the morning.
Today's schedule and more below the divider doodle.
Did you enjoy day one of the blogathon?
NO!?! Well, what the heck is wrong with you?
Today's lineup promises to be even better. So don't you worry.
The following bit is from your hostess with the mostest, boatsie:
Good morning and welcome to today's preview of guests and Kossacks participating in the Tuesday Plenary of the week long Climate Change SOS Blogathon.
The Climate Talks at Daily Kos are hosting climate scientists and economists, researchers and academics and writers who are discussing a wide range of issues related to climate change: issues such as gender and the disproportionate impact of climate change on women; new paradigms for clean energy economies; the rights, wisdom and challenges of indigenous peoples; climate change literacy; food security, education and health; and community resilience in the face of climate change and peak oil.
All postings remain open for ongoing conversation throughout the week, so check in regularly at the Climate Change SOS Blogathon Group on Daily Kos. The goal is to generate conversation among members of the Daily Kos community with our guests, while also providing a forum for an interchange of ideas and feedback between all participants.
Each morning, this SOS Daily Report will preview the day's guests and topics; provide Hot Headlines on climate change news from locales around the world; and invite readers to post their reports on localized effects of climate change. For more information, see Reports of Climate Change From Your Backyard I.

To break up the tables, here is a shot I took a few years ago in the eastern Sierra. I guess this is what this whole series is about- Melting Ice.
There was very little snow in the Sierra last winter. And little rain on the playa where Burning Man is held. Be ready for a very dusty event this year out there, all you Burners. Reports suggest bike riding may not even be possible on the 5 inches of playa dust. Is there anything that climate change isn't affecting!?!
