Following the shooting death of Texas Deputy Darren Goforth by a Black assailant Fox News wasted no time in not just suggesting the Black Lives Matter may have "influenced" the shooter, they literally label it a "Murder Movement" after doing pretty much zero analysis, and zero investigation of the actual shooting in question.
Fox & Friends co-host Brian Kilmeade welcomed frequent guest Milwaukee County Sheriff David Clarke, who often appears on the network to criticize black activists and the black community.
While no link has been established between the alleged gunman, Shannon Miles, and Black Lives Matter, Clarke immediately attacked the group just a day after he accused President Obama of starting a “war on police.”
“Well let me start here, first of all the headline is ‘Black man shoots white defenseless police officer,’ ” Clarke said. “Because I get sick and tired of seeing it the other way around when an officer defends his life. They always point out that it’s a white officer shooting an unarmed black suspect.”
Yeah, right. Like Walter Scott who
was shot in the back while running away was somehow "threatening the Officer" and it's all the fault of "Black on Black" crime. Like Samuel Dubose who was
shot in the face just before the Officer started lying about being dragged by his car was justified by some such "black killers" or something. something. As if Tamir Rice, John Crawford, Jonathan Ferrel, Darrien Hunt and so many others all deserved to die when none of them had an actual weapon to threaten police with.
People point it out because there's NO VALID EXCUSE for it. Point being, if the other person is unarmed - by definition - the Officers life isn't truly at risk and deadly force shouldn't be justified or rationalized away. In fact according to the Supreme Court unless they have probable cause, it's not justified.
But as we'll see over the flip, Fox is far from the only one making this ridiculous claim.
Here's CNN's Report on the shooting from 2 days ago.
And then there's Breitbart News who couldn't get through their first paragraph without making the connection to #BlackLivesMatter.
HOUSTON, Texas — A Harris County Sheriff’s Deputy was shot execution style at a gas station while reportedly in full uniform. The deputy was filling up his patrol car. Witnesses told Breitbart Texas the shooter shot the deputy in the back of the head and then three times in the back. This tragedy comes within days of a group of Black radicals calling for “lynching whites and killing cops,” as Breitbart Texas recently reported. Witnesses also told Breitbart Texas that the shooter was a black male.
All of this huffing and puffing is apparently because somebody name "Sunshine" whose not in #BlackLivesMatter but is apparently in her own thing called "#FuckYoFlag" had a call in show and some of the
callers into the show said stuff like this.
An unidentified black man said “when those mother fuckers are by themselves, that’s when when we should start fucking them up. Like they do us, when a bunch of them niggers takin’ one of us out, that’s how we should roll up.” He said, “Cause we already roll up in gangs anyway. There should be six or seven black mother fuckers, see that white person, and then lynch their ass. Let’s turn the tables.”
They conspired that if “cops started losing people,” then “there will be a state of emergency.”
He speculated that one of two things would happen, “a big-ass [R’s?????] war,” or “niggers, they are going to start backin’ up.”
“We are already getting killed out here so what the f**k we got to lose?”
Sunshine could be heard saying, “Yep, that’s true. That’s so fucking true.”
That's generally what's known as
Shit-Talking. If we spent time on everybody who called in to a radio show or podcast and said a bunch of "would, coulda, shoulda" garbaged we'd be at it 24/7. In fact, Media Matters already is at it 24/7.
Speaking of Media Matters they bring up the point that this type of rhetoric isn't used by Fox or Breitbart when a pair of White Biker Gangs got into a shootout with police.
Earlier in May, Fox host Eric Bolling responded to the killing of NYPD officer Brian Moore by suggesting that liberals waging a "war on cops" were to blame. He said, "The 'anti-cop left' in America seems to be ... fueling some of this hatred and, you know, murderous streak that's going on against cops."
On the December 29, 2014 broadcast of Fox News' Special Report, contributor Charles Krauthammer responded to the pattern of unarmed black men being shot by police officers by saying, "If there's a pattern here, it's the war on police. I don't see a war on young black men."
On May 17 in Waco, TX, a shootout between rival biker gangs and law enforcement left nine people dead and more than 190 people in custody. In the immediate aftermath, some gang members issued death threats against uniformed officers. Days later, reports of more violent threats emerged -- members of the Bandidos biker gang who serve in the military were giving their fellow members grenades and C4 explosives, according to the Texas Department of Public Safety. CNN reported on the existence of Bandidos "plots targeting high-ranking law enforcement officials and their families with car bombs":
So which is the more serious threat to Officers, some guy talking smack on a podcast - which doesn't even
fit into the actual shooting of Deputy Goforth - or a set of actual murderers arming themselves with grenades and C4 to use against police?
Also where is the link between that caller and this shooter exactly? What have they got in common other than being, very likely, both black? Isn't that kind of, bigoted?
Remember when that White Guy in Ferguson was threatening to Kill Cops and Frame Black people for it?
Missouri man was charged in a bizarre plot to provoke police violence against black Ferguson protesters.
David Michael Hagler intended to kill police and then glue a gun to a black man’s hand in an attempt to get him shot and set off additional violence in the city where protests have continued for nearly a year since the fatal shooting of an unarmed black teen by a white cop, reported the St. Louis Post-Dispatch.
Yeah, that happened. Really it did.
So did this, when two members of the Cliven Bundy movement didn't just talk about Killing Cops -and starting a "Revolution" in the process - they actually went out and Killed Two Las Vegas Cops.
After killing officers Alyn Beck and Igor Soldo at a pizzeria, the pair stripped them of their weapons and ammunition. They left a swastika, a Revolutionary War-era “Don’t Tread On Me” flag and a note proclaiming, “The revolution is beginning,” on the fallen officers.
The pair then migrated to the nearby Walmart, where a gun-carrying customer, 31-year-old Joseph Robert Wilcox, tried to take down Jared Miller. But police say Amanda [Miller] blindsided Wilcox and fatally shot him at close range, police said.
Investigators believe the Millers' murderous mayhem was motivated by an anti-government and anti-police ideology, but in three previous contacts with the suspects this year, neither expressed that sentiment, police said Wednesday.
Strange I didn't hear anyone on Fox News claiming that Cliven Bundy was leading a "
Murder Movement Against Cops", even after two of his followers killed two cops.
But it's not like this is the first time violence against an Officer has been used as a cudgel against a large Non-Violent Movement. Cue CNN 6 Months ago.
CNN Guest: There are some Peace Activist who have an entitlement to violence.
It's not an accident that we keep seeing this connection being made. It's not an accident that Fox News claims that there were #BlackLivesMatter protest who chanted "What do we want, Dead Cops" in New York after the death of Eric Garner even when the actual protest had already ended and broken up at 6:30 while the sun was still up - and mysteriously
these chanters were filled after dark in the shadows where none of them can be identified.
For one thing, according to the video, which was posted to Youtube the same day as the protest, the “dead cops” chant took place after sunset. You can see from the video that city lights are already on. The group starts by chanting “hands up, shoot back,” before switching to the death chant, and then an unintelligible chant at the end of the approximately 2 minute clip.
A story posted by the New York NBC affiliate says the marchers were proceeding “down Fifth Avenue at 32nd Street” at 4:30 p.m. The Millions March NYC protest kicked off at 2 p.m. as thousands gathered in Washington Square Park near New York University on 5th Avenue and 8th Street. After turning west on 14th Street the march, which stretched across all lanes and down more than ten city blocks, proceeded up 6th Avenue as far as Herald Square (home to the famed Macy’s flagship store) at 32nd and Broadway. It then proceeded downtown on Broadway, to One Police Plaza.
Millions March New York City march route for Dec. 13. www.millionsmarchnyc.org
By the time it reached Herald Square, which is on the west side of the city at least a mile from Murray Hill, it was still daylight. My photos from Herald Square are time stamped at around 3:30 p.m.
The official march ended at One Police Plaza at 6:30 p.m., when the march’s permit expired, a point reinforced by a tweet sent by the organizers at 7:26 p.m.
These people were not part of the march, if I were a suspicious person, I might think that video was
faked the way we've seen the videos of Planned Parenthood faked, and other bogus videos [A.C.O.R.N.] created by people such as Breitbart protege James O'Keefe. Fortunately I'm not that kinda person. I don't have to be because
Salon has those people on staff already.
A former top staffer at Project Veritas, a conservative-leaning “investigative journalism” organization run by notoriously slimy James O’Keefe, has recently admitted that he was pressured to oversee an operative, charged with embedding with anti-police protest groups and influencing demonstrators to say violent statements on camera, according to the New York Post.
The operative was supposed to say this clunky entrée into the activist equivalent of phone sex: “Sometimes, I wish I could just kill some of these cops. Don’t you just wish we could have one of the cops right here in the middle of our group?”
Ok, so maybe there's some room for skepticism here. Just as Fox selectively and wrongfully edited statements by #BLM protester Tawanda Jones to make it appear that she endorsed Killing Cops, when what she actually chanted was "
We won't stop, we can't stop, 'til killer cops, are in cell blocks"
I've been watching CNN as I type this and they're getting pretty frothy over the idea that the Texas Deputy shooting has a #BlackLivesMatter connection. CNN analyst Tom Fuentes is trotting out every lame pro-Cop Violence excuse and Trope possible. "Don't Resist and you won't get shot..."
Uh huh, sure dude.
He's claiming that the "Army of Federal Investigators found the shooting of Michael Brown 'Justified'". Yeah, uh, no - they didn't find anything like that. Their opinion was that an attempted Civil Rights prosecution against former Officer Darren Wilson would probably not succeed. They reached that conclusion because they refused to develop an opinion on how Brown's arm wounds occurred - but as Dr. Cyril Wecht has observed there's literally no possibly way it could have happened the way Wilson describes. Two simple questions:
- How do you shoot someone from the front and hit them in the back of the right bicep, unless they're facing away at the time?
- How do you shoot someone from the front and hit them in the forearm, bullet angled from wrist toward the elbow, unless that person has his hand raised at the time?
Just as we've seen with the Breitbart led smear campaign against our own Shaun King, and claims that #BlackLivesMatters is the "Same as the KKK", this "War On Cops" rhetoric is part of a broader agenda to maintain and protect the continuing power of White Supremacist Policies in our Law Enforcement.
None of this is accidental, it's part of a counter-campaign of Killer Cop Rationalization. They are trying to systematically delegitimize the movement, delegitimize the complaints of unarmed black men being shot by police.
Unfortunately for them, #BlackLivesMatter does now have a published agenda via Join Campaign Zero.org, and not one item on that list involves any type of call for violence to be used against Police Officers.
Anyone who suggests the this movement is "Anti-Cop" or in some way a call for violence should be directed and challenged to find evidence of that within their Ten Point Plan.
I'm fairly sure they'll fail to find what they're looking for because what we, and they, want isn't Dead Cops, it's Better Cops.
And one, or even two, crazed lone wolf Cop Killers isn't going to change that.
