In case you missed gchaucer2’s cry for help and the superb, sustained community response, at least six stories graced the Rec list this week. ericlewis0 contacted gchaucer2 that night and wrote gchaucer2 is okay. Now that PayPal has completed its verification process, we can start raising funds for her.
Six stories this week by or for gchaucer2, including two book reviews:
How to donate to gchaucer2
Via PayPal: To send money to friends or family, log in to your PayPal account, click Send Money & Request at the top of the page, choose to Send money to friends or family and fill out the information, sending to StilledLives2@gmail.com. We have encouraged gchaucer2 to set a goal for this fundraiser that includes an agent to help with book sales.
Via snail-mail: To send gchaucer2 a check, please send Ekaterin a kosmail. Please be a little patient, we are still working out the final details, but we should know where to send snail-mail by Monday evening. Even Ekaterin does not have the address yet, but she will hold your name and let you know when we get that address. The names of 44BlueLeft and oceanview are already on that list.
Fundraiser Goal
Our tentative goal for gchaucer2 is $10,000, which will include the services of an agent to help her increase book sales, possibly help with copays for counseling, and give her a little break to work on the sequel to Stilled Lives.
Building Community, Building a Community
In this story, we are building a community. Please do what you can do to build community here. I invite you to do whatever you feel comfortable with and have time for. Some will donate, some can only recommend the story. Some will comment, some will reply to others. Some will recommend every comment, some will broadcast to their social media. Some will announce their donations, some will remain silent about donations. This is an open thread, and we invite you to create content for others to respond to. All community-building comments are welcome.
Please keep in mind that gchaucer2 is recovering from a very stressful week and that she is in the process of moving out of her present residence. She is packing her belongings, cleaning, sorting, transporting.
The six stories listed above hold more than 1300 comments! And there were more diaries and conversations than that. We cannot expect gchaucer2 to respond to all of them. Please be patient with her if you have sent her a kosmail. She's had a heck of a week, she's moving, and we want to read more about Rose in the sequel to Stilled Lives!
Please grant her the boon of not responding to every comment with a trademark snarky remark. Let's not stress her out with the expectation that she respond to every comment with a comment. Maybe, for today, when she clicks the Recommend button on your comment it can represent some or all of the following: I agree, thank you, I appreciate your comment, LOL, OMG, or even "my goodness, you all are making me weep with gratitude" or, as we say in Daily Kosese, "it's getting a little dusty in here."
Finally, gchaucer2 adds "I will be reading your comments, and I am very grateful to you all for the support and love I know you will be sending my way."
