Quinnipiac poll. Lieberman trounces Weicker, Lamont, anybody else.

The Latest Quinnipiac poll is out, and it's not good news if you want Ned Lamont, or anyone else to unseat Joe Lieberman in the November elections.
When asked the question, do you approve of the way Joe Lieberman is handling his job, a strong 63% said yes they do, only 25% say no, they disapprove of his job performance, and only 11% said they didn't know. 71% of Republicans, 57% 0f Democrats, and 62% of Independents approve of Lieberman. 21% of Republicans, 30% of Democrats and 27% of Independents disapprove.
When broken down by gender, 60% of men and 66% of women approve, while 30% of men and 22% of women disapprove. Read More

Gallup poll: America favors Israel

According to a new gallup poll, Americans favor Israel in lopsided numbers when it comes to dealing with Hamas, and the new Palestianian government. Some numbers to crunch.

44% say Israel should have diplomatic relations with Hamas, only if Hamas recognizes Israel, 22% say they should have relations regardless if Hamas recognizes Israel or not, while 25% want Israel to have no relationship with Hamas at all.

Those who watch the news closely out of the Middle East, 66% sympathize with Israel, those who watch the proceedings somewhat, favor Israel by 59%, and 52% sympathize with Israel even though they don't keep up with news from the Middle East. Read More

I see that a blog has been written about Republicans and especially Kate O'Bierne's appearance on hardball, and her incessent whining and crying over the fact that both Jimmy Carter and Joseph Lowery both took shots at George Bush, at today's funeral for Coretta Scott King. It is regrettable that I have to side with O'Beierne, because 99% of the time, she is a worthless twit, but I have to on this occasion.
I am not saying that both Carter and Lowery have valid points, they sure do. Martin Luther King was harrassed, and spied on, and hurt in so many different ways. Bush has forgotten about the blacks in New Orleans, and Mississippi, and he has a lot of 'splainin to do.
My beef with both Carter and Lowery is that they chose to speak out at a funeral.

Al "Grandpa Munster" Lewis dead at 95?

Al Lewis, who once ran against George Pataki for governor of New York, and best known for playing Grandpa Munster, has died at the age of 95. Lewis had been in poor health for some years now, died peacefully in his sleep, surrounded by family members.
Lewis, played Grandpa on the shortlived 60's comedy "the Munsters". The show ran from 1964-66, and was cancelled after the third season because of internal problems.
Lewis tried his hand at politics, and ran against Pataki. He received about 52,000 votes.

Bush and Blair lied about going to war

The Guardian newspaper is reporting that both George Bush and Tony Blair were in complete agreement about going to war with Saddam Hussein before seeking advice about the legality of going to war in the first place, and before the UN voted on a second resolution advocating war.
According to Lawless World, and Phillipe Sands of the University College in London, Bush told Blair on January 31st, 2003, that he intended to invade Iraq whether or not their was a second resolution, and whether or not any weapons of mass destruction were found. Blair completely agreed with the decision, although he had some misgivings about wether it was legal for them to do so. Read More

Let me say right off, I know I'm going to take a lot of heat for what I am about to say, but I'm going to say it anyways. Here goes; You have once again, been let down by a party that doesn't care what you think, doesn't care about your phone calls, letters, e-mails, and other ways to contact them.
It is about time to reconsider the Democrats and why you are still a member of that party. Since Bush took(stole), the office in 2001, he has done everything in his power to screw over this country. His illegal war in Iraq, his breaking the FISA laws, his slow, pitiful response to Hurricane Katrina, just to name a few. His approval ratings are between 38% and 44%, depending on which poll you look at. He was partly responsible for the worst terrorist attack on this country. Rice: No aid to Hamas government

U. S. Secretary of State Condoleeza Rice said on Sunday that all aid to the terrorist group Hamas will be cut off, and urged many nations to follow suit.
Rice went on to say in a brief statement that "The U.S. is not prepared to fund an organization that advocates the destruction of Israel, advocates violence, and refuses its obligations under the international framework for Mideast peace.
She also said that humanitaritan aid to the poor Palestianian people will be on a "case by case basis", and that a review will be done on all assisstence programs.
The Bush administration is taking a very tought line on Hamas, and for good reason. A senior leader of Hamas said the other day that no changes will be made with regards to Israel, and none will be forthcoming in the near future. Read More

Now if anyone out there thinks that since Hamas won the elections last week, they are going to suddenly back away from what they have been doing or saying in the past, then I have some swampland in Montana I would like to see you.
The Bush administration in their zeal to have elections in the Middle East, have brought about Hamas a a viable political force, something they did not want to happen. Now that Hamas has won, both the administration and Israel are on alert. Ehud Olmert, the prime minister of Israel says that their will be no peace talks with Hamas until and unless they renounce terrorism, and make sure that Israel's borders are safe and secure.
It would be stupid for this or any other administration to talk to Hamas right now. Their stated goal in life is the utter destruction of Israel. You can't have that kind of ideology, and expect others to have an open mind. Read More

You can put away the butcher knives you Lieberman haters out there. Joe had a little press conference and said he is voting No on Alito. I don't know if he is going to vote for cloture or not, but it won't make much difference if he does or not, according to MSNBC, the Democrats will "go down in flames" if they try to filibuster Alito.

John Gibson, the bag of wind, heard on Foxnews, bloveating on the airwaves every night, has again smeared the good name of Cindy Sheehan.
Gibson still doesn't know why Sheehan thinks Bush killed her son. He attacks her for he praise of Hugo Chavez and Fidel Castro, and feels she has gotten too close to the ultra far left. He says that her grieving days are over with, and the only reason she continues to be on the air, is to attack Bush and hate America for what happened to her son.
Sheehan has every right to hate Bush. He is directly responsible for killing her son. Never have so many lives been so carelessly thrown away as this. Read More

Not that it won't make a hell of a big difference, but the Federal election committee has found some spending irregularities about the quarter million dollars that Joe Lieberman spent on his reelection bid last summer.
According to the agency, Lieberman spent $4,600 on helicopter service in New Jersey, $4,000 in "excess funds" to Vernon Democrat Joesph Courtney to try to unseat US Rep. Rob Simmons, and on Sept. 30th of last year, refunded $2,500 in contributions from Mark Wertheim, a West Hartford businessman linked to the corruption scandal of former Gov. John Rowland.
Wertheim had functioned as a landlord for a company owned by his wife, which secured two leases for state offices at a former shopping center in Windsor that were worth at least $840,000 a year. Also the Wertheim's were personal friends with Rowland's, and treated them to skiing vacations with some of the money. Read More
