The Romney campaign is currently ticked off about supposed push-polling in Iowa, which questions Mitt Romney's Mormon faith. Now I can see how he'd be mad about the push-polling, but what the heck does the guy expect? He has never answered really any questions on Mormonism that potential voters might have. Now I don't think that push-polling should be used at all in politics, but if Romney would just explain some of his positions regarding Mormonism this probably would not have happened.
Matt Rhoades from the Romney campaign stated that, "Whichever campaign is engaging in this type of awful religious bigotry as a line of political attack, it is repulsive and, to put it bluntly, un-American." While I don't condone push-polling, questioning a candidates Mormon faith is not a form of religious bigotry, and is not un-American.
There are some serious questions that Romney needs to answer. The LDS Church was officially racist until the late 70s, when the Church finally received a revelation that blacks should be able to enter their temples and even become priests. Mitt was a member of this organization while it was officially racist. He was in his early 30s when the Church finally changed their mind. Asking Mitt why he was a part of an organization that was officially racist is a totally fair question.
