The Museum of Flight in Seattle, Washington, is the largest independent, non-profit air and space museum in the world. The J. Elroy McCaw Personal Courage Wing is a two-story gallery that highlights the stories of courage, dedication, heroism and the triumph of the human spirit of those involved in fighter aviation in World War I and World War II. Shown below is some of the memorabilia displayed in the World War II exhibit.
During World War II, large-scale aircraft carriers were vital in the war against the Japanese. The war in the Pacific involved clashes between aircraft carrier fleets.
Flight Jackets
During World War II, flight jackets or bomber jackets were decorated with squadron patches and memorable artwork painted on the back.
