I don't know how, when and where the rule came into play that a candidate must state his/her name and that s/he approves an advertisement aired on television; I just know it's typically been annoying.
I guess, particularly, when you see one of those ads where the candidate is speaking to you and then finishes with, "I'm so and so and I approve this message." But, I see where it does make sense that putting together an ad delivered in the third-person, that it must be clearly approved.
So, what about applying this same sort of rule to endorsements? How about a 24-hour time limit to approve or reject an endorsement?
For instance, one that would quell the hype might be:
I'm so and so and I reject this endorsement by Louis Farrakhan.
I know that if we had this rule, the MSM would then hype things like, "Why did it take the full 24-hour time limit to reject the endorsement from the KKK?!" But, don't we need to start somewhere so we can put these silly battles behind us and get to the meat?
