Discussion was already beginning to degenerate into namecalling. But then I read this:
These people decided to live in a city that was on the ocean and was BELOW sea level. The government didn't let them down. They took a gamble and lost. They let themselves down.
It is not the government's responsibility to protect our citizens from themselves.
What the fuck are these people thinking? I replied to the guy that by that logic, the World Trade Center victims let themselves down by choosing to work in a terrorist target.
These are the people who put Bush in office and the first place, and these are the same people who are going to vote for whatever automaton the RNC runs in 2008. How in the name of Christ do you combat such lunacy?
