On Tuesday night, all (more or Lessig) of the Democratic candidates for president gathered in Las Vegas for their first, highly anticipated debate.
After the two-plus hours of nuanced discussion, the pundits and know-it-alls wasted little time in anointing Hillary Clinton the debate's "winner."
This was hardly surprising, given that the mainstream (liberal) media—the New York Times, in particular—has been carrying Hillary's water for the better part of a year (or twenty-odd).
Meanwhile, in focus groups, and on social media and teh Google, Bernie Sanders was named as the "winner."
This, too, was unsurprising, given that people—especially the Millennials—tend to like Bernie (#FeelTheBern, in
the parlance of our times).
Elsewhere, Martin O'Malley was called a "DILF."
Post-debate polling about who really "won" offered something for everyone—but a lot of it lacked any sort of "scientific" value and/or validity.
Now, all that being said ...
I think there's at least one thing that we can all agree on: any of our five (or maybe six???) candidates—even Jim Webb, who literally killed a guy—would make a far better president than any of those fucking clowns in the Republican party.
Feel free to disagree.

Alabama Gov. Robert Bentley (R) argued that the people complaining about the state's voter ID law and the closure of DMVs in minority areas are the real racists ... or something.
"They are wrong on this issue," said Bentley. "Everyone can get a license and everyone can get a voter ID. They (critics) really don't have anything to talk about. It's politics at its worst. And it's race politics at its worst."
Bentley told the group that he had worked hard to help change the image of the state.
"Alabama is not George Wallace's state. I don't want it to be George Wallace's state." said Bentley. "I want us to be inclusive. I don't want us to look at the color of people's skin. I don't want us to look at whether they are male or female. We are all Alabamians and I'm their governor. I know most of them (blacks in the affected counties losing driver's license offices) are not going to vote Republican. But you are not going to win people over by not being inclusive."
Meanwhile...
Former Arizona Republican Party Chairman Randy Pullen suggested that only black people require gun control.
While watching Tuesday night's Democratic presidential candidate debate, Pullen tweeted that black people are the "main killers" in society and suggested taking away their guns:
"Yes black lives matter. The best way to end the slaughter of young black men is to take guns away from blacks as they are the main killers," Pullen wrote in the 6:55 p.m. tweet.
The former GOP chairman had been following the discussion led by moderator Anderson Cooper about the Black Lives Matter movement when he fired off his remark on social media. The tweet quickly drew massive criticism.[...]
Pullen tells New Times that he was "being sarcastic" about the comments of Democratic presidential candidates Hillary Clinton and Bernie Sanders during the debate.
And, finally...
Mike Huckabee looked to the Bible for ideas about how to reform the criminal justice system.
The former Arkansas governor weighed in on our nation's current criminal justice system during an appearance yesterday on Mickelson in the Morning, a leading Iowa radio program.
Host Jan Mickelson began by bemoaning that the "criminal justice system has been taken over by progressives." In order to fight back, he argued, conservatives should look to the biblical Book of Exodus. "It says, if a person steals, they have to pay it back two-fold, four-fold," Mickelson explained. "If they don't have anything, we're supposed to take them down and sell them."
Mickelson went on to argue why jails, which he claimed are a "pagan invention," are inferior to slavery: "We indenture them and they have to spend their time not sitting on their stump in a jail cell, they're supposed to be working off the debt."
"Wouldn’t that be a better choice?" the host asked.
"Well, it really would be," Huckabee replied without missing a beat. "Sometimes the best way to deal with a nonviolent criminal behavior is what you just suggested."
Say what you want about the tenets of National Socialism ... at least it's an ethos.
