Gordon20024's quilt
Our friend, crystal eyes, has cancer, a tumor in his brain. He has been writing about it on his own blog and has written about it on Daily Kos. He is on a healing journey and wants to take his community along with him -- and what better way than with a community quilt? Our loving words will blanket him, literally!
We are short 30 messages and $192 for this quilt. I will keep these numbers updated!
The center block for WisePiper's quilt, an original appique design by my sister, Ann. The quilt top will be done today.
The way this works is that messages for crystal eyes are left in the comments below. I will {{{{hug}}}} you as I pick up the message, to let you know that I have it noted. Then I will transcribe the messages in archival ink on muslin. My sister and I will then sew the messages into a colorful quilt for him. The power of the loving words you give will never wash out, I promise!

It takes time and material to make one of these quilts -- and it is a living for me and my sister. If you would like to contribute toward the cost of crystal eyes' quilt, here is a PayPal link -- or message me for an address should you prefer a check. $15/message is suggested, although some give more to cover for messages by those who cannot afford to donate. Trust in the crowdfunding! You are welcome to leave a message whether you can give or not.
Another detail of Gordon20024's quilt. The yellow fabric was used as the backing for CelticLassie's quilt.
We will be layering WisePiper's quilt today or tomorrow and it will be done by the end of the weekend. The next quilt diary we will return to Commonsense Mainer's quilt which is a big project, a 200 message star quilt.
