I was flipping through the channels tonight and somehow fell on Faux News. Faux News Watch, to be specific. To my surprise, they had 2 liberal/moderate panelists (Neal Gabler and Jane Hall) along with 2 wingers. The two liberal/moderates were slightly inept, but were given equal time and rebutted most of the talking points tossed their way. Gabler (who is adorable -- is he married? Or gay? He's so immaculately groomed in a way most straight pundits aren't) even said flat-out that the media coverage of Bush's inauguration was horribly biased in favor of the GOP.
When was the last time anyone dared to say that on CNN or NBC or MSNBC? And not get shouted down in a Hannity-lite fashion? Even on that horrible Beltway show, Gollum-like Mort Kandracke said that we shouldn't overturn Roe vs. Wade. Can you imagine Chris Matthews saying that?
Have we gotten to the point where the media has become so right-wing that Faux News somehow seems moderate? Or did I just catch them on a good night?
