In Arizona, and out Arizona much people think in a possible race for senate betwen J McCain and J Napolitano in 2010. After Napolitanos nomination for the cabinet this possibility seems far, and new governor of Arizona will be republican J Brewer.
That not like tell im against J Napolitanos nomination for the cabinet. I think shes work in the cabinet can be good for democratic party. Democratic party need strong cabinet for make good Obama's presidency. If this cabinet make rigth things and have high approval rates, Obama's democratic succesor can be in his cabinet.
Democrats of Arizona now must find best candidates and strategies for 2010 races.
The list of possible strong canditates is the same what we have for senate:
- Gabrielle Giffords: AZ 1970 USHRep 07- .
- Ed Pastor: AZ 1943 USHRep 91- .
- Raúl Grijalva: AZ 1948 USHRep 03- .
- Ann Kirkpatrick: AZ 1950 USHRep 09- .
- Sam Coppersmith: PA AZ 1955 USHRep 93-95. Lost for Senate 94.
- Karan English: CA AZ 1949 USHRep 93-95. Lost for House 94.
- Richard Mahoney: AZ 1952 Secretary of State of AZ 91-95. Lost for Senate 94. Lost for Governor 02.
- Terry Goddard: AZ 1947 Attorney General of AZ 02- . Mayor of Phoenix 83-90. Lost for Governor 90.
- Phil Gordon: IL AZ 1951 Mayor of Phoenix 2004- .
Not is long list of candidates, and we have very few young people in politic active. Only Gabrielle Giffords. But not seems republicans will have very strong candidate for governor. Veteran Secretary of State Janice Brewer will be governor in few days and not seems she will be strong incumbent in 2010.
The candidate what sound more for this race is T Goddard, but when we have some candidates of same or near level habitually a let open the candidature.
