Adios, X-Twittter, things are so much better at BlueSky
Now that the fun events of November 5th are shortly behind us not surprisingly the Republicans are foaming with confidence at what they can possibly do with a unified government, every wannabe fascist crawling out of the woodwork to splash their awful ideas and tactics into play while they have a chance to have them heard.
Of course I knew the Republican Party is in obvious regression, but it never occurred to me some kook would come up with those Pentagon Warrior Boards. Omg, Ronald Reagan is spinning in his grave, to have these fascist freaks and goons actually go after the United States Military in what they want to do as Republicans, I never even thought the idea could arise.
Here’s another one, the Extinction Level Event (ELE), flung out there by some crank, meaning the fascist wants to eliminate entire components of the government they don’t like: Department of Education, Environmental Protection Agency, Department of Agriculture.
Well well well, look who’s here, Elon Musk on his twisted sick platform of X giving his stamp of approval. Okay, Elon, since you like the idea so much take a look at the screaming upward numbers at BlueSky, that little open AP project at Twitter you ignored upon purchase, anyone can see right this minute X is being abandoned by its userbase to migrate to BlueSky.
Because the election is over, obviously many X accounts hung around for the event but now that it’s over please baby Jesus let us get out of this hellhole of X as soon as possible. This is your Extinction Level Event, Elon, you’re just too dense to see it happening right in front of you.
$44 billion for a sketchy platform full of flaming gross kooks, death threats and horrifying imagery, you’re some genius, dude, yeah I can see it. If in the coming months this stinking wreck dangling with the few distorted souls still there can be merged with TruthSocial by all means instantly go for it, far less embarrassing that ignominiously, hurriedly shutting it down.
As a base student of economics and political science it’s my duty to state with 100% confidence that implementing an ELE would not only instantly harm the needed good it serves (food inspections) it would also immediately do great economic harm, you’re taking precious steady cash of out the economy, at the scale these idiots are talking about they’d cause a depression, not recession.
Not that these fascists would care in the least, please get it, Trump and his goons don’t see government as a means to serve the little people, they see it as a means to exert power for their personal agenda. They of course don’t mind smashing or crippling huge elements of government that don't instantly serve their cruel, stupid whims, put a Fox News host as head of the Department of Defense, he’s obedient, nothing else matters.
Abandonment of any guiding principle, gross constant lying, ridiculous self assertion of childish ignorance, this is fascism, and inevitably it leads to what we see right now at X, a wreck that serves no one and is one sorry god damn sight of humanity, it’s really not so hard to be so much better than this.
The first Trump term wrecked the Judicial Branch and directly excused consequence for Tump’s convicted felon status, which led to Trump’s re-election. No one calls that a functioning democracy, but it is in fact the first harbinger of America’s Extinction Level Event? Right-wing media dominance and collapse of pathetic American journalism certainly aren’t asking, they’re enabling it, so we may well in fact be on the way out of Democracy to our new 21st century American fascism.
Bleak and horribly depressing, I know, but we do have BlueSky before us as an example of American spirit and luck. Try to put us down or buy us out and a workaround will be found, go ahead and enable fascism, New York Times, serious demand for the truth still exists and somehow a way will be found to build new structures to deliver it.
Go ahead and cripple the United States Military so you can implement a junta if necessary, Trump, see what that will really do to your base fanatics when they finally realize you don’t even give a damn about the US military.
Can you really smash fascism upon the American public with constant lying and fresh immigration prisons? Without serious pushback or failure? I doubt it.
