Welcome back to the odd and whimsical poetery of the Peeps related to holidaze! Let’s investigate what today is, because we need all the holidaze we can celebrate, right?
Lately, every day seems to be many holidays! Which is good, because we all have our favorites. So I will pick out one, and you can click the link above if you’re curious about the rest. This is an Open Thread, so please feel free to add your favorite pomes and photoes and holidaze for today in the Comments!
My speciality! Have you noticed I never say the words not allowed to be broadcast? This day was devised by the Tennessee Legislature. To whit (or should that be wit?):
WHEREAS, tourism and hospitality are significant economic drivers in our communities, and the number two economic driver in the great State of Tennessee; and
WHEREAS, whole communities throughout the United States have dedicated themselves to providing entertainment and wholesome productions for vacationers and those with leisure time, such as Pigeon Forge in the great State of Tennessee; and
WHEREAS, clean comedy as family entertainment is vital to the preservation of East Tennessee’s Christian values and therefore valued in this era of questionable content in various media channels [eye roll; just sayin]; and
WHEREAS,... clean comedy shows have become rare sources of creative innovation, inspiration, and relief to audiences who need a break from workday stress and worry;….
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF TENNESSEE, THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES CONCURRING, that we hereby designate April 28, 2015, as “National Clean Comedy Day” in Tennessee….
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that we call upon the good people of Tennessee to observe National Clean Comedy Day... with appropriate programs, ceremonies, and activities.
Thank ye kindly, Tennessee!
So my favorite clean comedy is why cats should not be doctors; which in this era of Covid may be more relevant than ever!
And just so we don’t forget the woozles:
And finally, a not-so-clean pome that also reminds us why cats should not be doctors:
by Francesco Marciulioano’s cat
Her new sweater doesn’t smell of me
I could pee on that
She’s gone out for the day and left her laptop on the counter
I could pee on that
Her new boyfriend just pushed my head away
I could pee on him
She’s ignoring me ignoring her
I could pee everywhere
She’s making up for it by putting me on her lap
I could pee on this
I could pee on this.

PWBPeeps is a group that posts a daily diary and nightly open thread for animal lovers. We share photos, seek & give advice about pet health and behavior issues, support each other in times of sadness and stress, celebrate together when times are good, and on most days have an inordinate amount of fun.
You are welcome to join us!
Here are a few not-too-onerous PWB rulez
Violate ‘em and we’ll say that you drulez
- Do not “Troll” the Pootie Peeps Diaries. If you don’t like animal diaries, there’s no need to tell us about it. Just go find some other diary more to your liking.
- Whatever happens in the outer blog STAYS in the outer blog. As in, no pie fights. This is a place to relax and play; please treat it accordingly.
- If you would like a pic from the comment threads, please ask the poster. He/she may have a copyright to those pics. Many thanks!
- There are some pics we never post: Snakes, creepy crawlies, any and all photos that depict or encourage human cruelty toward animals. These are considered “out of bounds” and will not be tolerated.
- If you’re not sure about an issue...please ask. Someone is always glad to help.
