I had no idea that what I posted on my blog last October would be coming to fruition. But since I'm seeing all kind of "Jefferson must Go" blogging here on Kos, I felt my DLC post of nearly eight months ago was crucial. The current corruption scandal is just adding fuel to an already smoldering fire.

What you must remember is that Hurricane Katrina pretty much tore off Jefferson's clothes and exposed him as a less than mediocre congressman who sold out his own district. Katrina pretty much washed away Jefferson's district, and his surviving constituents are scattered across the United States. Read More

As a person who grew up in the San Francisco Bay Area (Oakland), while Nancy Pelosi was not my representative (my rep, Barbara Lee, is better)I have to say that I've had the opportunity of watching Ms. Pelosi succeed the late Sala Burton, who had succeeded her late husband, Phil, in the same seat.

For the better part of 20 years, Pelosi did liberal and Progressive Democrats proud with her representation. In fact, because her resemblance, physically and politically, was similar to Senator Barbara Boxer, until 2002, both women were often mistaken for one another and quite favorably.

Any Democratic Senator who is running from Russ Feingold's call to censure President Bush should be disqualified from running for the nomination for President in 2008.

If they sound like war hawks when 70% of this country is sounding the drum loudly, that this Iraqi war is unwinnable, is another disqualifying factor.

If they left Jack Murtha hanging out to dry on his call for immediate withdrawal from Iraq, they should be disqualified.

Calling for a filibuster of Supreme Court Nominee Sam Alito from Davos, Switzerland, when you're not here to lead said filibuster, should disqualify you from the nomination. Read More

In case you haven't heard, former Rep. Randy "Duke" Cunningham was sentenced to ten years in the joint for accepting bribes and tax evasion while a member of the House of Representatives.

Sometimes, just when you think justice isn't going to be served, you hear on television that the Dukester is going to pull a dime stretch with the tats and cornrows crowd.

My prayer is that Little Ricky, Bob Ney, Conrad Burns and anyone else involved in ethics scandals will get similar, if not worse treatment, and can smell the stench of a prison cell in their sleep.

I can't wait for KKKarl Rove and Scooter Libby to become a "girlfriend" to the likes of an inmate likely named "Biscuit" "Skillet" "LeRoy" or "HammerTime".

Oh, yeah, and Spring Training is getting underway in full effect. GOOOOO A'S!

Just got the latest in from Raw Story - the Senate voted 95-4 to reauthorize the Patriot Act. Send some love to the following four Senators who valued civil liberties over constantly being frightened by the Federal Government:

Russ Feingold
Robert Byrd
Tom Harkin
James Jeffords

You will notice that Senator Barack Obama is not listed with those who voted against the Patriot Act. Nor is he listed as a Senator who abstained from the vote like Senator Daniel Inouye of Hawaii. The Democrats "Brightest" star sold out with the rest of the no-cajones Democrats, which also include Minority Leader Harry Reid and DSCC Capo Chuck Schumer.

We keep hoping for the Democrats to surprise us with a spine, and they always disappoint us by being the jellyfish they really are. Read More
