Welcome back to the odd and whimsical poetery of the Peeps related to holidaze! Let’s investigate what today is, because we need all the holidaze we can celebrate, right?
Lately, every day seems to be many holidays! Which is good, because we all have our favorites. So I will pick out one or two, and you can click the link above if you’re curious about the rest. This is an Open Thread, so please feel free to add your favorite pomes and photoes and holidaze for today in the Comments!
Today is National Mocha Day!
September 29 is the favorite day of the year for many coffee maniacs in the United States because two holidays dedicated to coffee are celebrated on this day. They are International Coffee Day and National Mocha Day.
Caffè mocha, also known as mocaccino, is an American variant of a caffè latte. It is a coffee beverage based on espresso and steamed milk which contains chocolate. Typically sweetened cocoa powder is added, but some variations contain chocolate syrup, dark or milk chocolate. Sometimes caffè mocha is referred to as hot chocolate with espresso added.
Caffè mocha can be served either with steamed-milk foam or whipped cream on top. Sometimes it is dusted with cocoa powder or cinnamon and topped with mini marshmallows.
I chose this because I’m enjoying some caffeine whilst listening to the presidential debates, to stay alert. OTOH, I am playing the drinking game! (Every time $Rump says “test,” drink!) Will the mocha or the bourbon win out in my brain??
iced mocha delight!
by ladylivvil
In a luscious crushed iced mocha,
Cream as it's wonderful peak,
Top of my mountain of mischief,
The wonderful delicious iced mocha,
Dwelling in my heaven filled mug,
All crushed up with love,
Negate the love,
It's from commercial enterprise,
My heartfelt want, my one desire.....
To have a mocha machine of my own, to sate my wild desire!

PWBPeeps is a group that posts a daily diary and nightly open thread for animal lovers. We share photos, seek & give advice about pet health and behavior issues, support each other in times of sadness and stress, celebrate together when times are good, and on most days have an inordinate amount of fun.
You are welcome to join us!
Here are a few not-too-onerous PWB rulez
Violate ‘em and we’ll say that you’re crulez
- Do not “Troll” the Pootie Peeps Diaries. If you don’t like animal diaries, there’s no need to tell us about it. Just go find some other diary more to your liking.
- Whatever happens in the outer blog STAYS in the outer blog. As in, no pie fights. This is a place to relax and play; please treat it accordingly.
- If you would like a pic from the comment threads, please ask the poster. He/she may have a copyright to those pics. Many thanks!
- There are some pics we never post: Snakes, creepy crawlies, any and all photos that depict or encourage human cruelty toward animals. These are considered “out of bounds” and will not be tolerated.
- If you’re not sure about an issue...please ask. Someone is always glad to help.

PLEASE NOTE: Your humble diarist is NR, so consider yourselves +1 as long as you behave! ;-)
ADDITIONAL NOTE: Please help the little feathered folks out by putting out extra birdseed and/or fresh water for them, wherever in the US you live. They are stressed. I have been doing that daily. The skwirrels take advantage, but I am seeing birdeez come to the feeders and water bowls too.
And finally, hernia update: Since several have asked: CT scan was done this past Friday. It wasn’t fun, but not as bad as I’d feared. It found an umbilical hernia and a few other abnormalities. I have an appointment to discuss it over the phone with the hernia surgeon on Monday, October 5. This thing hurts much less than it did at first, and clearly no medical personnel have been in a giant hurry to treat me, so I’m hoping to treat it with physical therapy. Final decision next week!
