Biden ran for senate when he was too young to even serve. He was 29 and didn’t turn 30 util after the election (but before being sworn in).
In that very first run for office, Biden showed that he cared about the very issues that matter the most to us now.
from the biography Joe Biden:
His platform was unabashedly liberal, even as he took pains to disassociate himself from the label that was in bad odor in the country at the time. “My issues were voting rights, civil rights, crime, clean water and air, pension protection, health care, and the war in Vietnam” he wrote later. “That day in 1972 , I called for a comprehensive national health care program to protect families from the financial disasters of coming with catastrophic illness. I said we can no longer allow the wealthiest nation in world to be a second-class citizen in providing health care for those who need it. Above all, I said that day, I still believe in the system, I wanted to make it work, and I could be trusted to try.”
That pretty much sums up Joe Biden. He cares about the issues that matter most to us right now and he will fight to fix them.
He doesn’t believe in tearing down the American system. He believed in fixing it. He believes if you get in the middle of it, you can make things better. If you learn from people, and listen, and change, and grow, and fight like heck, you can make America come closer and close to her ideal.
Joe Biden will be a great president
