Scientific discoveries make us healthier, safer, happier, and better able to care for ourselves and others. They are the key to protecting the planet and the lives that make our planet the vibrant place that it is.
Biden fought for science funding for his entire political career and in his few years as a private citizen Like here in 2018:
Biden may no longer be vice president, but he’s still leading the charge for his cancer moonshot, and for science funding as well. “The United States government, at this point in our development, should be doubling and tripling down on investment in pure research across the board,” Biden said today in Austin at the annual meeting of the American Association for the Advancement of Science. That line drew sympathetic applause from the hundreds of scientists and educators who turned out to see the 75-year-old statesman. He railed against “this know-nothing crowd who see science as a threat,”

81 Nobel laureates endorse Biden
A group of 81 Nobel Prize winners endorsed Joe Biden for president, reports CNN. Why it matters: They cited Biden's "deep appreciation for using science to find solutions" in the letter — which it highlighted as particularly important during the coronavirus pandemic. The endorsees include winners of the Nobel Prizes in chemistry, medicine and physics. The endorsement was organized by Rep Bill Foster (D-Ill.), the only physicist in Congress. “During his long record of public service, Joe Biden has consistently demonstrated his willingness to listen to experts, his understanding of the value of international collaboration in research and his respect for the contribution that immigrants make to the intellectual life of our country."
